10 of Swords

So, it has been a while since I have been able to log on and post anything. I have been having computer issues.

Last night I did a basic Celtic cross (it’s kinda my favorite). I was looking for some guidance in my current relationship. Well, guess what came up— 10 of swords. I really don’t like when that one comes up in my relationship readings. It always forshadows an arguement or conflict. Plus, it was surrounded by the 8 of swords, the 7 of cups and the page of swords. It appears that I have some upcoming conflict to bear through. Last time the 10 of swords came up, the conflict was a doozy. We managed through it, though, so I think this one will pass over too. The 10 of swords has always been a card of conflict or turmoil, whether inner or literal in my life. My only consolation comes from the Strength card. Quiet, inner strength has always kept me safe through conflict.

I am a little curious about the seven of cups, too. I can look forward (i feel reluctantly, though) to being offered several choices in conjunction with the turmoil. Anyway, something will transpire within the next week, so I will be sure to write about it then.

Rekindling an old flame–Tarot

So, this morning in my daily spread I just was looking for some guidance in figuring out what to do with my future. I know that is quite vague, but it has to do with me having doubts about my ability make a future and hopefully a living with reading Tarot cards. The spread is a basic cross of truth, five cards. Looks like this:

Two of Cups

So, with the Two of Cups I see a reconciliation with my readings. I am feeling quite good about this. In conjunction with this, the Six of Cups shows an old love revived, very happy card. On the helpful side, I have the Six of Wands clarifying to me that there is a helpful force guiding me to success with this venture. The Tower, which I feel can be negative at times, tells me that it is time for old habits to be destroyed. Time for me to put away old negative doubts and believe in myself and my ablilites. Its almost a “negative negative”, and anyone with a math background might see that that makes a “positive!” The way I see it, if I continue as I am being guided now, I can look forward to success, including in my spiritual and financial areas.

Tarot: Beginner again

I first discovered that I had a connection to Tarot when I was 18. I visited a psychic and she used Tarot to help me answer some questions I was having at that time. While i was not completely impressed with her abilities, I found during the reading that I could sense the cards speaking to me, even though I had never seen Tarot cards before in my life–much less that the cards were hers! Almost immediately I went to a bookstore and purchased my first set of cards. I wish I could remember the maker, as I no longer possess those wonderful cards. I used them off and on for years. I had no structured study with them, but found that I had some natural ability and connection. Eventually when I needed extra cash I even worked from home as a phone psychic. I found the experience gratifying. I cannot recall, however, specifically why I put the cards away and left it for so long. It has been about 8 years. Perhaps it was that I was struggling emotionally once more and felt myself being tugged in another direction. That direction cost me dearly as I turned to alternative, negative sources for stress relief. Happily, those days are behind me. What brought me back “into the fold” so to speak, was an instance several months ago. My life partner mentioned to me one day as we were on our way to the bookstore(one of our favorite shopping outings), that she remembered I had spoken often about my experiences with Tarot. She bought my other “first” deck that day.

Because it has been a few years since I was active with Tarot, I am now on an upward learning trend with them again. I am finding my first love with them again! I am enjoying the challenges I face with relearning and redeveloping my earlier intuitive skills. I look forward to sharing more in the coming days.

Great question, eh? It is a question we all ask ourselves at some point or another during our lifetimes. For me, it seems to be one I ask myself often, more often lately. Perhaps I can chalk it up to the moon phase…. Anyway, here I am challenging myself to something I have very little experience in–blogging. I love challenges and look forward to expressing myself here and hopefully getting feedback from some more advanced bloggers. Although new to this medium, I am not new to writing, just unpublished. As a teenager I used poetry as an outlet to my neverending emotional distress. By the time I was 17 I had written over 300 poems. Now here I am some 20 years later using writing as an outlet again. Why now? Since I am somewhat unemployed(that’s another story), I have lots of free time to continue my study of Tarot and use this medium as a release and communication tool. By the way, I am quite interested in hearing from experienced Tarot readers and less-than-experienced. Life is a continuous lesson (hmm… have I said that somewhere before?), so let’s keep learning.
